I remember my mother’sSister’s husband’s brotherWorking in the goldmine full-timeFilling in for sunshineFiling into tight linesOf ordinary beehivesThe door screams I hate youHate you hanging around my blue jeansWhy is there no breezeNo currency of leavesNo current through the water wireNo feelings I can seeI trust no emotionI believe in locomotionBut I've turned to rust as we've discussedThough I must have let you downToo many timesIn the dirt and the dust I have no idea how this happensAll of my maps have been overthrownHappenstance has changed my plansSo many times my heart has been outgrownNow everybody’s feeling all aloneCan’t tell you who I am When everybody’s feeling all aloneCan’t tell you who I am I am looking forwardToward the shadows tracing bonesOur faces stitched and sewingOur houses hemmed into homesTrying to be thankfulOur stories fit into phones And our voices lift so easilyA gift given accidentallyWhen we’re not sureWe’re not alone Written by Jeff Tweedy and Nels ClineInstrumental CreditsJeff Tweedy – vocals, electric guitarJohn Stirratt – vocals, bassGlenn Kotche – drums Mikael Jorgensen – piano Nels Cline – lead electric 12-stringPat Sansone – vocals, acoustic guitar, Hammond A100 organJim O’Rourke – feedback

Maybe the sun will shine today.. are the first words on the first lyrics on this finely-crafted work of music. It ruined me and saved me many times over since before it was released up until late summer of this year. It was recorded in 2007 in the same Chicago studio loft shown in their film 'I am Trying to Break Your Heart' which was released in 2002. The record is reminiscent of Wilco's earlier work that is loyal to the band's country music influences.
'Impossible Germany' is probably the track that I found most influential at a personal level. My reaction to the song is triggered from excitement and fear of where you're next footstep will land among other things... Musically, I should first mention that the guitar solo towards the end of the song is relentless. If you've never heard this song and you're not much of a Wilco fan, I recommend you give this long song a chance and experience the winding solo. The earlier guitars in the song are fleeting, soothing, and best described as what a perfectly tied pair of shoe laces feels like. You may not understand. Thats ok.
The first three tracks are really where it's at. Also, 'Hate it Here' is actually funny, if you have the right sense of humor. 'Walken, There's a Light, and On and on and on' are also strong.
Once again, this is a post inspired by request.

May 15, 2019 Wilco is the latest band to recruit a mix of their musical friends for a Mexican concert destination event. On Wednesday, the popular rock band announced their Sky Blue Sky all-inclusive weekend. Sky Blue Sky may just be Wilco's best record to date. Not in spite of the influences, or in spite of being mellower than their previous efforts, but precisely because of it. Wilco owes its existence to classic rock (a radio format I loathe with a passion), and in the process, has become classic (not to.
